Looking for the dedicated “View as Student” guide? See View as Student for the full reference.
What it replaces
You can still invite faculty supervisors and site supervisors to your real program — they have their own views and you can join cohorts as faculty whenever you want to test the faculty side.
Recommended things to try
- The full clearance flow — start View as Student on a real student who’s in clearance, and walk through what they see step by step. See Getting started & clearance tasks.
- Log hours as a student — open the Timesheet tab inside View as Student to confirm the agreement modal, activity types, and supervisor options match your program settings.
- Create a new cohort — invite students, generate the join code, and try enrolling. See Set up cohorts.
- Create and assign a form — use the Assignments tab to build a form (or use an AI-converted upload). See Building forms.
- Trigger a Run Report — pick HRS-01 (Weekly Activity Ledger) and run it against a placeholder student.
Read-only protections
While View as Student is active, the impersonation banner stays at the top of the screen and all actions are tagged as impersonation in your activity log. The student can’t tell you logged in as them — the events you see are theirs, not yours. What about faculty and site supervisor accounts?
There’s no “view as faculty” feature. To test those flows:- Join a cohort as faculty by generating the join code from the cohort and pasting it into the Join Cohort as Instructor modal under a faculty account
- Site supervisor onboarding happens via the magic-link invite that fires when a student adds a supervisor during clearance — to test it, complete the supervisor step inside View as Student using an email you own
Next step: With testing in place, customize FieldX for your program. See Customization settings to configure academic terms, hour requirements, and clearance.
